Artist description
This duo dabbles in rock, alt-country and pop. Songs range from sedate slow core to washy emo with vocals sailing over the top of rich chords and bombastic drum beats. Some songs are minimalistic while other lean on complicated chord progessions. All of which are vocally and lyrically-based. |

Press Reviews
Seattle Duo Rosyvelt grows on you. When you first put in the album, you know you're in for an interesting ride, but each time through, some new detail catches the attention. One particularly intriguing aspect of Rosyvelt is their ability to move through a wide range of emotions in just five brief songs. It's like wandering around a carnival: everywhere you turn, these emotional scenes appear as if reflected through distorted mirrors. You never know exactly what to expect or whose face will be leering back at you, and that is a good thing. The tempos of the songs break and release in unexpected ways, adding elements of surprise at every turn. The band takes you on a musical and emotional roller coaster that freezes you into frames of uncertain progression. When the thrill is over, you reach down and hit play, ready to ride again. |
