Artist History Adam Kerr has had many projects including but not limited to Kalibos, Guitbox and his solo work. Adam has also done studio work for a variety of artists.

Press Reviews A lot of music comes across my desk every week whether it is demos, new releases, press kits or even videos. All genres of music but in the last 2 years it has been predominantly Rock. Not just Rock but all sub genres within Rock whether it be Metal, Hard Rock, Alternative it is almost all Rock lately. Thing is a lot of it does not have that IT FACTOR. By It Factor I am talking about that talent, that charisma, that intangible that just screams out at you that this kicks ass. Sometimes I get moments of it from bands. Maybe a song or two but never where it just oozes out of your speakers. Well it has finally happened and it has come from an unsigned talent. Someone who has got his finger, his heart and soul on the future not just the current or modern sound he is ahead of the curve. He brings you the past, the present and the future all at one time with pure originality, integrity and yet you can hear those early influences of Rock all throughout and to top it off he has brought back talent. He has brought back musicianship but with no ego. No over the top flashiness just great hooks and great rhythms and his name is Adam Kerr. Adam Kerr is a young yet experienced talent from New Jersey. He has been at this for over 10 years honing his skills, playing with all different people and creating a sound all his own. Building a huge solid catalog of songs with a host of bands he began with the amazing Metal band Kalibos whose time was just wrong, they were trying to do Metal at a time when Grunge and New Punk ruled the airwaves and all Metal and Hard Rock was taboo. If you can get your self a copy of any of there demos or there 3 song EP independent release get it. True Metal fans will not be disappointed. Talk about talent these guys combined the power and writing of Metallica with the musicianship of Dream Theater. If only they were a little older and had been released in the late 80s I would not be writing this right now. I would be at the Garden banging my head like a metal maniac. If you do get your hands on it check out the song Black Panther. This track like most songs Adam is involved with is written by Adam alone even the lyrics on this one. His riffs just drive into your blood and make your heart race. Moving forward Adams next band he formed was Guitbox. New Jersey based as well for 5 years now they have been slowly building a diverse and dedicated fan base. Hard Rock better than anything I have heard before. When his press kit got here it included a 10 song unreleased disc that has to be heard to believe. Incredibly catchy hooks with pure originality like all of Adams music. In the case of Guitbox most of the lyrics are written by his now former music partner Mike Deej. Guitbox is going through some changes and Adam is always on the hunt to make that project perfect. He is in the search for his third drummer, fourth bass player and now his second singer. Each time someone new joins it seems to get better and better as I have now heard from listening to his past demos. I asked him to send me old copies of his stuff which he did reluctantly. Like a true musician he is always trying to get better and he was afraid for me to hear the old stuff but it rocked as well as anything else I have heard. You can though hear the improvement as things change. As Adam has said to me in our conversations its a constant search for just the right fit. That group of guys who live for this that want nothing more in their lives than to just rock for the rest of their lives. If you get a hold of any Guitbox material look for standout tracks like All These Years, New Inspiration and Rockflower. All These Years is just pure rock power. The song opens with the main riff and just wakes you up from the first bar on. Rock does not get much better than this. It is the kind of song you look forward to hearing when you listen to your favorite rock station. Then there is New Inspiration which is a great example of what I meant before when I said not just modern or current but ahead of the curve. Then there is Rockflower a song that will one day be a classic on all the top 10 lists. It is that anthem type track that bands get known for and end up having to play at every show for the rest of their lives. It makes you feel good and makes you move, bounce your head and sing along like a true classic should. Then comes the second disc in the press kit sent to me. It is a collection of solo tracks from Adam. It is not very often you get to hear an instrumental rock artist that keeps your attention. Usually instrumental guitarists tend to just throw you every scale and pattern they know as fast as they can without regard for song structure but Adam is different. At times you realize that his rhythms have a melody to them. They hook you from the first note. One of these standout tracks is a song called Thang. The guitar tells a great story hear with a great blues-hard rock blend. I have not heard it done like this in a long time. This song will have you moving and feeling that beat. Then there is a track with a funny name Snuffalupagus. Now here is an example of a true guitarist instrumental track but with great leads that sing to you. Flashy at times but not for ego sake this kid just knows how to play the damn guitar. Thank god if I have to hear another guy play like he has only had 3 lessons I think I will shoot myself. Back to my point on these songs which is they could all be great in movies, on TV and radio. Adam Kerr is here to stay and so is his band Guitbox. If you can see either the band or Adam as a solo artist live do yourself a favor and go. The live show is like nothing I have heard before. They have blown me away each time I have seen them now and made the crowd go nuts.
