From the Mykel website Biography.... Mykel Milur, a progressive acoustic folk singer and songwriter, is fast becoming a favorite among many Rocky Mountain area audiences. Last year Mykel received the Zuni Guitar Straps’ ‘Musician of the Year Award:’ the Catacombs’ selected Mykel for their yearly anthology album: and grass roots radio stations carried his music to thousands of fans.This year holds many new surprises. Along with two new albumns comming out, Mykel will be aired on 2 local television shows and on Colorado PBS.
Mykel’s debut album entitled "First Tracks" contains originals influenced by his Appalachian roots. These originals honor traditional folk values while projecting Mykel’s own unique style. His music is down to earth and, as Mykel puts it, “a celebration of the human experience with all its anguish and delight."
In live performances Mykel takes the audience on a journey through a bye-gone past into a dream-like present. The infusion of classical, blues, and folk guitar styles attest to his versatility as a musician. Many of his lyrics are social commentaries, and he presents his music with humor, honesty and an earthiness and approachability audiences always find compelling.
Colorado area host of music benefits and of the Nederland Wolf Tongue Brewery’s music entertainment, Keith Davis, says of Mykel, “He always gives an incredibly hot performance."
