He also competed in the year 2000 DMC competition. The world wide dj competition is considered one of the most prestigious competitions in the dj world. He competed in Chicago against 67 other dj's and placed a respectable 26th. He has also been instrumental in helping to create a legitimate D&B scene in his hometown of Indianapolis, which has been an uphill battle from the start. He has succeeded in mixing the trickery of turntableism, the sounds of live bass and guitar, with the wicked sounds of D&B. This mixture of styles has made him a quickly rising talent in America. PRESENT: K-step has three records expected to be released in the next few months on two very well-recognized labels. One of those labels is Terra(format) recordings with a remix by Ecco and Sabotage. This record is scheduled for release in May, with another in early Summer. He is currently mixing a 30 min. D&B mix once a month for a syndicated radio show called "Planet X", WRZX 103.3 FM. He is the first person ever to play D&B on air in Indiana. His production work has also garnered attention from producers/dj's Ecco and Sabotage, Aphrodite, and labels such as Urban Takeover and Terraformat Recordings. With releases in the works for these labels, you can expect to hear a lot more from this mult-faceted musician. On top of all that, he finds time to promote RAID! The first and only Drum and Bass night in Indianapolis. With much praise from those who have played at his events you can also expect to hear more about his insane monthly night of Drum and Bass. FUTURE: His goal is to place himself firmly in the world D&B scene. Helping with all of the other wonderful producers out there to push the envelope of music, and to expose D&B to as many people as possible. He would also like to represent the midwest of America as a formidable scene and a growing scene. Hopefully, the future will hold many successful D&B nights and parties in the midwest. Although, it will be an uphill battle. FINAL THOUGHT: The goal of everyone involved in our worldwide D&B scene should be to spread the music to every corner of the globe. There are so many places with potential that just don't get any attention. Some of these places need help and exposure. We need to support those people in all areas of the world! The phrase "Drum and Bass" will be used in every house and every little nook and cranny of this planet if we just embrace the scene as a whole and not as seperate scenes in seperate places. Drum and Bass WILL take over the airwaves everywhere!
