    Artist History
"tea for three" was formed in 2002 by Tyler Hall and Matt Larson, its two members. "We met at college and started jamming together and it took off from there. We share common beliefs and inspiration; it gives us automatic chemistry." Tyler plays the guitar and sings, while Matt backs up on the guitar and vocals and adds a twist of piano. Ty likes to throw mud at concrete and watch it splatter, and he thinks its amusing. Really though, Matt and Ty spend most of their time putting off schoolwork writing songs and playing around with new tunes. Coming from Austin, Minnesota, Matt has been playing piano since he was very young and picked up the guitar a few years ago. Tyler's hometown is Lakewood, Colorado. He has been involved in music from a young age with piano and recently guitar. Matt likes to push buttons to try and find out if they do anything, as well as taking long walks on the beach. Matt and Tyler ended up on the same floor as freshmen in college and that's the beginning of the story. A little deeper (we get deep? oh yeah, I guess we do...but only for a second), Matt and Tyler are a lot alike, which makes the music blend creatively and fittingly. Being Christians, and musicians, their beliefs come out in some of their music, but their spirits go into all of it. When Ty writes songs, he wants any listener to be able to relate in some way and feel the realities of life together. Unlike many bands, tea for three works hard to give real meaning to every single track. Phew, now that you know that, you better know that Matt and Ty just love to have fun and be crazy. That also comes out a bit in the music, but if you come along for the ride you'll get to know them and laugh the whole way through. Right now tea for three is working on recording a CD; it's the big goal for the year, but they are hoping to have something to show for their work this summer. Thanks for asking. Matt and Ty don't know where this will take them, but for now, "We're just playing on the clouds."

Tyler Hall - Born and raised in Lakewood, Colorado, Ty plays the acoustic guitar and offers up the vocals for Tea for Three's music. Ty attends Wheaton College, plays soccer, and writes music in his spare time. Ty loves to eat food for the sake of eating food, laugh at nothing, and dance like a fool in front of mirrors when no one is watching. He has always loved music, and recently discovered his gifts in writing and performing music as he was walking to Tibet on his hands and eventually started sinking just East of New York. He also finds interest in pondering how the letters of Ty are also an abbreviation for thank you. Ty is a Christian, and he tries to give the audience someone to relate to, as well as offering his reason for living. Matt Larson - Matt's roots are in Austin, Minnesota, and he has been a music maniac since his mother gave birth to him. Matt spent his childhood beating up his younger brothers until they told on him. Then Matt cried so that his mom wouldn't punish him...always the smart one. He's a freshman at Wheaton College and he plans on not being a bum for a living, but if he has to then he'll be the best bum ever. Matt plays the backup guitar and sometimes the piano, viola, or bass when necessary...he's a utility player. On a serious note (what?), Matt is a Christian and he plays to honor the gift God gave him.
