Artist History
The band was previously known as Submerged nearly two years ago. They started as a trio, with Garett Ancelin (guitar, vocals), Tyler Smith (bass), and Jason Ancelin (drums). Scott Gibson was then added to the band as the bassist and Tyler then switched back to his stronger instrument, guitar.
In the summer of 2001 this high school quartet decided to change their name. The band was soon after known as Newmatic. But with the change of name also came a change in members. In fall of 2001 Tyler and Newmatic split ways, as Tyler felt it was time to move on.
Not long after his departure a new member was found. A guy named Bryan Masse fit in perfectly. His great voice also earned him the lead vocal spot that Garett was more than willing to give up. After playing many shows as Newmatic, the guys felt it was time for another name change. The Porn Cops are a four member band currently looking for gigs or other playing opportunities. The band got the name from the delicious kids cereal Corn Pops. They recently changed their name back to Newmatic, since they were getting numerous phone calls requesting the stoppage of illegal porn videos being shot in neighbourhoods
In January of 2003, they went into the recording studio under Smalltown Productions and created a 5 song EP. The success is building and the future looks near to the band in the years to come. They are currently working on another 100 CDs to be released in March of 2003 |
