Artist History
Birthday: June 23
Birthplace: Danville, Ky.
Home: Junction City, Ky.
I grew up on a farm outside of the Junction City limits. I learned early on how hard work and determination pays off. I have been so fortunate to have the parents I have. We are a Christian family. They would tell me with God and prayer anything is possible. I was around 8 yrs. old when I sang for the first time to my mother and grandmother. I sang "Amazing Grace" for them and they both smiled at me and taught me more gospel songs. I grew up with music.
My uncle Bo and Uncle Owen sang in bands for years and I would go and see them play and I wanted to be up there singing with them so bad and my parents would tell me "In time, Sheila". I joined the Middle School Choir and then I was in the High School Choir. I was a proud member of the Future Farmers of America. I learned so much on how to speak and even perform through both.
I love a good challenge. I entered and won several talent shows. I still felt like something was missing and my parents told me I needed to be in Nashville. I have been going back and forth for eleven years now. I have sang at local clubs in Kentucky... Lexington...Horseshoes, The Grapevine, Austin City Saloon, and Caddilac Ranch. Also, I have sung at Jamboree shows in Kentucky...The Kentucky Jamboree, Georgetown,Ky.; Homestead Jamboree, Fairview,Ky.; Country Place Jamboree,Frankfort,Ky.; I love going to Sam's Place in Junction City, Ky. When I am home on weekends you can find me there. Those people are so special to me. My mom and dad went there many times to hear me sing.
I have sung at the Boyle County Fair several years. Last year I sang The National Anthem at the Boyle County Fair. After that my mother was diagnosed with Cancer and I quit singing to help take care of her. I sang to her many times. I made a promise to her I would carry on with my dream. She passed away on September 25,2002. I thought my life had came to a shocking end. I had lost one of my very best friends. People would ask me when I would start singing again and I told them I didn't know if I could.
Then I started back singing at my church (Moreland Christian Church) a few months after that. I love to sing the gospel as much as I love country music. It is real life. I rejoined my local band and I am now traveling back to Nashville, again. I have never felt more complete than I do now and I couldn't do this without God, first and foremost in my life and the love and support of my parents, family, friends, and fans. Last but not least, I would like to thank each and every one of you who has believed in my dream and me.
Love Yall,
Sheila Noel
