Artist History
Despite a biography which tells King Lizzard as coming from Iapatus, a moon of Saturn, over three thousand years ago, King Lizzard was born and raised in Detroit, the city Rolling Stone magazine calls "the Liverpool of America, a gritty industrial city producing hard, loud rock since the 60's."
Born to a famous musical entertainer, King was playing the ukelele by two-years of age, and the piano by five.
In 1973 he moved to California, where he put himself through college on an acting scholarship and gained degrees and honors in Film and Theatre Production.
Weaving music, theatre and multimedia together, King has worked professionally in the film and music business for over thirty years. He has acted in major motion pictures and the live stage, and has performed before stadium crowds of 60,000.
In 1997, after the death of his mother and daughter, he left Los Angeles for Las Vegas, reuniting with his estranged father and pursuing professional music under the name of King Lizzard.
King has performed in every originals club in Vegas, and at major venues such as the Imperial Palace, Caesar's Palace and The Joint at the Hard Rock hotel.
He began with an exotic techno-rock sound, forming the band "Living Karma" in 1998, moved into Hard Rock in 1999 with "King Lizzard's Hearts of Darkness Band," and, as a solo artist, began moving into the realm of hard-core and a more modern, industrial sound.
In 2001 the title of "Las Vegas' Godfather of Metal" was bestowed upon him. As of 2002 he continues writing and recording original music, is the online producer for N-Sidetrack TV and Radio Show, and hosts "Inside Sin City," a weekly entertainment show on LVRocks.
