    Artist description
A celebration of life and the fact that you're outrageously fortunate to be breathing at the moment. The music of Sister Charles continues to evolve: a wide-ranging mixture of rock, reggae, various roots influences, ska and funk. No matter the genre, the SC vibe is a seductive and up-lifting experience.

    Artist History
Founded in Lake Tahoe in 1995; three transplanted 'locals'... Larry came from the San Fernando Valley in the early 80's, Freddie came from NY state in the early 90's and John came from Massachusetts about the same time. ####################################### The band has enjoyed playing some great venues with great artists. Sister Charles kicked off 1998's Reggae at the Lake Festival, opening the show for such heavies as Burning Spear, Toots and the Maytals, and the Long Beach Dub All-Stars. SC had a blast playing the Frank Sinatra Ballroom at the Cal-Neva Resort while opening for Jamaica's own Meditations. ####################################### Many visitors to Lake Tahoe luck out after a day on the lake or the slopes when they stumble into Humpty's in Tahoe City or The Hacienda in Incline Village to discover the SC show. ####################################### After releasing a self-produced 6 song EP in 1998, the band has performed steadily, gaining momentum in the Lake Tahoe/Reno area. SC looks to recruit a horn/keys prodigy who will further define the uplifting/rootsy sound and attitude of the SC experience. Look for the SC sound in the SF Bay area and around the West in the near future.
