Artist History
During the 80s, British band General Public was riding high in the world of pop music with monster hits such as “Tenderness”, “Never You Done That” and “Hot Your Cool” as well as traveling in circles with other definitive acts like UB40, Steel Pulse, and The Specials. It was a dream situation for guitarist/vocalist Gian Minardi, who was hired when the band transformed from their original outfit, the venerated English Beat, to General Public in 1984. Minardi, previously a staple of the L.A. music scene, toured with the band for 4 years and helped fuel some of their most memorable material. Project Big House is the creation of Minardi, who for several years has been developing a unique brand of energetic, hook-laden Mod Rock & Reggae tunes reminiscent of artists like The English Beat, Elvis Costello, The Who, The Clash and The Kinks. Gian is joined by the powerful rhythmic infusion of Jaime de Jalisco (guitar/ vocals/ keys), Spark (drums), and Phil Siems (bass). |
