Artist History
OK, there are times in everyone's lives when you have to face facts, take stock, cut your losses and move on ... and this is one of them. It was fun while it lasted but NC4 have split up. Hence this page is now just a "song archive" and won't be updated in future. The DAM CD has also been withdrawn but all tracks have now been made freely available for download so go ahead and knock yourselves out! Watch that you don't get stampeded by a horde of bereft adoring fans! ;-) Feel free to visit the mp3.com page of Boff's latest venture:- Voodoo & the Zombies. Enjoy! |

Press Reviews
THE MIX, November 2000, Issue 81TM: These blokes are nutters - in the nicest possible way. 'Pots 'n' Pans' has an '8Os hard pop edge - think Duran Duran, Human League andbits of Depeche Mode, but with a few funk sensibilities a la Chic thrown in. Looks good on paper, and there are some really endearing touches to the whole demo. On the downside, in termsof production, it's a bloody mess. There are simply too many parts vying for space and it ends up sounding confused and hectic. Calmyourselves down, lads, because there are some pretty cool ideas in there that deserve their own identity. A concerted effort on thesong is what's needed, and you need to get that together together, as it were. Oh, and tempo changes at the end of tracks suck evenmore than fade-outs - unless they're done properly, which they are not here.Andy:Crazy, bonkers business, reminiscent of early B52's, only a bit less pop and nowhere near as good. Try working on the vocal melodies - they don't have to follow the chord changes exactly!Sam:In case you doubted it, the '80s revival is well and truly here, with a little bit of Steely Dan thrown in, in this case. I'm not sure if it really works, but it is certainly different.Luke:Human League covers band.Sil: Sounds like it should have been presented in 1984. A Thomas Dolby interpretation of Three Dog Night. |
