Artist History
Since their debut performance in February 1999, momentum has been the term most closely associated with Metroscene. Upon release of the debut disc, The Weekenders E.P., the collection of accolades began with regional press (Flagpole, The Atlanta Journal/Constitution, Creative Loafing) and later national, and even international coverage (U.K.'s MOJO Magazine).
As for their live show, Metroscene’s exciting performances quickly earned the group a reputation for being one of the best live bands in the Southeast and have helped build a loyal fan base. At a showcase gig, a reviewer for Ink 19 raved, "It's difficult to ask for more than these gifted popsters have to offer. Metroscene has built itself a behemoth local following in a very short time and has that rare combination of accessibility and credibility that demands a national forum."
