Artist description
Jilt are the female fronted song writing partnership of Rachael Swindlehurst and Steven Jones. A true diva on stage, Rachael’s raw energetic lyrics speak of jealousy, sexual tension, deviance and romantic entanglements that cut to the bone and leave a chilling ache. Having been compared to such diverse acts as Skunk Anansie, Texas, and Alanis Morrisette, her intense vocal performance provides a saucy, sensuous and multi layered platform for the twisted guitar sounds, creating a heady concoction which leaves a bitter yet exquisite aftertaste that cannot be forgotten. |

Press Reviews
‘This is no easy, comfortable listen, but its obviously deliberate. Rachael Swindlehurst’s tormented timbres; eerie effects and vulnerable vocal nuances make it as menacing as it is unique. If there’s one thing jilt does remarkably well, it’s demonstrating that eclecticism can be wholly cohesive, and I defy the industry to disagree.’Nick Serre, The Mix Magazine |
