Press Reviews
Some of you may remember Greg as a soul singer, ala, James Brown. But for "Slow Burnin'",he returns to his country roots with marvelous results. The songs on "Slow Burnin'" run the full gamut of blues-inspired country. The honky-tonk fiddle and guitars of "She Was a Rose", the danceable and groovy "Sleepy Head" and the classic country of "Hello Sweet Georgia", penned by friend, Mike Brown, the only track not written by Greg. In "Sadness is a Friend of Mine", Greg proclaims himself a "hotblooded redneck with a whole lotta soul". I couldn't agree more, especially with the "soul" part. But what I want to know Greg,...is, How many syllables can the average human being articulate in three seconds? Listen to "Ballad of Fuzzy Star" and you'll understand my question. "unbelievable voice that can bring life to any song" |
