Chris Webb from Ace magazine wrote"The debut disc from Gloria Bills is a bizarre amusement park ride through the psyche that seesaws from rapturous delight to utter devestation. With spacey bass burblings and guitar harmonics that lope along almost innocuously, this band morphs like crazy and uses slow buildups that transform into a wall of noise.The album begins with the strangely titled'Mind of a Sperm', a commentaryon male motives and fleeting feelingsthat thrives on urgent percussion and a chorus reminiscent of the Foo Fighters. A Nirvana-ish guitar riff fuels 'You know it', a song heavy on spacey vocal effects, overlappingvocal tracks, and crunching guitar sounds. 'Always Sometimes' the standout track, is very catchy with a refrain that inevitably gets stuck in your head, it's airy and expressive nature carrying it along. The shouting vocals, 'la-las' and rock beat of 'Smile Again' and 'Pain Pain' point to a variety of influences from the '60s,70s,80s.
