Artist description dip is the unholy alliance of two of Icelands’s finest groovemasters, Johann Johannsson and Siggi Baldursson. With a background in such diverse projects as the Sugarcubes and Lhooq and armed with a thorough knowledge of groovology and sound manipulation they have forged a shockingly seductive collection of songs at the same time distinctive, eclectic, experimental and memorable.

Artist History dip originated one and a half years ago, then a side project in between Siggi’s session work with Howie B and Les Negresses Vertes among others and Johann’s work on Lhooq’s debut album (Echo). The album was composed and recorded in a series of intensive three to four week sessions over a period of one year after which Siggi and Johann decided to concentrate exclusively on dip.
