Artist description
"That is the voice of an artist" Producer David Cole (Richard Marx, Bob Seger, Farm Dogs). Rootsy pop/rock artist Diana Williamson has been described as a "saloon girl from the turn of the century, Alaska Goldrush, Rural Alternative". Film and tv have been picking up on her unique brand of magic. Diana has a song featured in the Jean-Claude Van Damme sequel "Return of the Universal Soldier", ABC's new primetimes series, "Making the Band", four other feature films, Disney's "Z Games" & the Larry Sander's show. Listing people watching as one of her favorite past times, Diana began lyric writing, drawing from these characters. This led to collaborations with such noted writers as John Capek(Rod Stewart, Heart), Marc Tanner (Aerosmith, Shawn Colvin, Nelsons) Fontaine Brown (Emmylou Harris, John Mayall) to name a few. After being awarded a government grant for her music, Diana co-wrote the single off the debut artist Jimmy Rip (Mick Jagger's co-writer/guitarist) album on the House of Blues Records, and their Hot Biscuit's compilation CD. She has the upcoming single on Sasha Lazard's debut album on Higher Octave. You might find this globe-trotting gypsy performing in your neck of the woods sometime soon. So keep checking the Calendar for upcoming releases and shows. Enjoy the music and feel free to contact her with any questions or comments! Press Reviews
Aug./2000 Music Connection "What Kinda Woman leads off Williamson's very professional demo, showing that this artist and her cowriter have a strong knack for crafting upbeat pop songs. Because the songs are lyrically direct, they're very appropriate for the country market. As a vocalist, Williamson is no slouch, conveying a somewhat breathy, Joan Osborne-like tone. It's a voice well suited to her material, as on the yearning ballad "Heartland". A top notch demo." "I was hypnotized by your performanc e", Brent Harvey, Pres. L.A. Music AwardsÔËš |
