Artist History
Thanks to the urging of close friends, singer/songwriter Christian Ryan first took his music from the "bedroom to the bar-room" while attending college at Chico State University in northern California. His quick found success as a solo act only grew when he became a member of the band "Bigfoot," playing the area's college circuit during the mid-nineties. When the band parted ways in 1997, Christian moved back to his home town of Virginia Beach, VA, and has since been a fixture in coffee houses, pubs, living rooms and open mics in and around Hampton Roads. With energetic performances and a style drawing comparisons to Ani DiFranco, Keller Williams and Paul Simon, Christian's sound may best be described as "indie folk groove, with the occasional twist." And it just may be this "twist" that keeps audiences intrigued and coming back, continuing to allow Christian to share his passion for music, which at times can be, he admits, a "love/hate" relationship. |
