Press Reviews
A very special kind of gothic metal is brought by Black Ocean Drowning. This band, with five members, plays music that is difficult to compare to any other band. A good combination of a powerful voice, a strong drum makes this kind of recognizable music. The music is sometimes soft, sometimes powerful and aggressive. The best song on Negative Life must be Babylon, according to me. Seven songs to make you get to know a different kind of gothic.- Peter-Jan Van Damme-Darker Than The BatHailing from Michigan, this five-piece gothic metal band creates an encompassing sound that wraps itself around you and squeezes. It's heavy, dark and powerful. There's a Sisters of Mercy kind of thing going on, but with a uniqueness all it's own. This record features seven tracks and a total running length of nearly forty minutes of sheer pleasure buried in a cloak of dark, deep, metal roots.-Impact Press #19 - February/March '99- |
