Artist History
I was walking down the street one day in November when I thought of this really cool lyric. I was about to write it down when I realized that it did not belong to me. Rather, it was Bob Dylan’s. I thought to myself, “Now I am stealing from Dylan, what next?” I can’t possible do that, but “Stealing from Dylan” would make a great name for the band I am putting together. There are enough references to Dylan in modern music that I don’t need to make yet another one. So then I start to think about the person I really steal from the most. I can only think of one person – Andy!
Now the only thing I need to do is find some musicians and get the show on the road. The search is on. I auditioned many different musicians but none of them had a very open mind to just let things happen. Then I get a call from Eric. He had just moved here from Wisconsin and wanted to play. We got together and it clicked right from the start. After just minutes of jamming I knew that I had found my guy.
Drums were no problem. Christos and I had known each other for a few months. He was hired to play drums in a tribute band that I was in at the time. We really hit it off and musically we were really tight from the start. He had been there and offered up a lot of ideas while I was brainstorming this project. He seemed just as excited as I was. So when he decided that he was leaving the Tribute world at the same time as I, there was no question that he was my guy.
There was only one piece of the puzzle missing as far as I could see. Like most things, this one fell out of the sky. I was at a Christmas party and ran into my very good friend Phil. We had not really seen each other in a few years. We had played in a group together while we were in high school and college, then we just sort of drifted. The night of the party I had a chance to let him in on what was going down and invited him to come to check it out. We all got together to play for the first time on January 11th, 2003. The rest is history in the making.
