Artist description In this world of spiritual depravity there has been an emphasis put on material knowledge and tangible reality leaving us devoid of the awareness of our connection. Barren and desolate, I've built my world upon fallacies. Striving further for a sense of stability. Until it is my turn, my turn to feel the utter pointlessness of my triumph. Change is inevitable. Destruction imminent. And in that violent moment when obliviousness is stripped from the creation. The self will stand alone in contemplation of what once was...the dawning.

Artist History The Dawning was realized by singer/songwriter, Ramiro Perez, who has always been intrigued with the tension created by blending electronics and kindred human spirits. The project began as material he had programmed with the aid of his trusty sidekick, Mac. Then, some sonic mayhem was added with the addition of Bayonne's own, Jason Luskie on guitar. The troop was rounded out with long time friend, Amy Farr on bass, and rhythm virtuoso/Platonic cohort, Casey Gdowski on drums. From their inception, The Dawning have sought to give sonic expression to those first blinding rays of light after a long sleepless night. Often we must challenge or flat-out demolish that which we believe in order to give rise to any new ideas. This process or conflict is often volatile, and the music of The Dawning attempts to capture this struggle through their lyrics and sonority. Their efforts supply the soundtrack for an inner revolt, an uprising of like-minded individuals looking to challenge the assumptions of the past and derive meaning for a new day.
