Artist History
A little news... I'm heading into Cedar Room Studio to begin recording the debut album...
hehehe 'debut album'. Ok, that aside, Let's see, I was born Oct, 3rd 1978 in Greenwich CT.
In'at nice to know? I began playing piano at a very young age under the instruction of my father
at first, a very accomplished artist himself, and then a myriad of teachers including Stewart
Hemingway. It was my performance playing Bass on keyboard in the pit for Grease in 8th grade
That jump-started my love of playing. It was at this point that I bought my first acoustic guitar; an Ovation. After the shuffling of the roster of my first gigging band, I
formed my own, also playing keys. After that band crumbled, I formed another. This time
playing guitar. This went on for years as I stretched my guitar playing wings. Somewhere in there
I bought a tascam 4 track machine spawning a great love for recording, recording myself and
others. Eventually I moved on to a tascam 8 track machine. Oooh the magic. In 1995, I left my
beloved Greenwich behind and began attending Darrow School; a small boarding school in New
Lebanon, NY. I really grew there as an artist. I was granted prefectships in both the music and
theatre departments and was put in charge of every concert and live sound event. In addition to
performing, almost every student who wished to perform requested that I be their accompanist.
I was part of two bands at Darrow as well as loose jamming circles. It was there, in '95, that I
was exposed to the music of an artist that would become one of my greatest influences; Ani
Difranco. Graduating in '97, I moved to New Jersey for reasons that need not be mentioned in
this bio. Although I had been composing my own material since the early '90s, it was with the
purchase of a Roland VS-1680 16 track digital harddisc machine that I really began to write feverishly. After amassing 20 or 30 recorded tunes, I hooked up with my oldest friend on this earth, Devin Katz Sawyer, a lyricist and vocalist with whom I recorded an additional 17 tunes. Eventually, this musical union cooled for no particular reason, though we remain very close friends. With every song I record, I improve my art. Somehow I heard about ArtistLaunch.com; one of the coolest places on the massive tangle of electrical impulses we call the internet. Three of my songs made it to the #1 spot in their genre charts on AL and two of those made it onto the sitewide top 40 in Nov. of 2002. As of now, I am searching for artists to form a permanent unit with in the NJ/NYC area. If you decide to listen to any of these tracks, I hope you enjoy them.

(Refering to Tired)"Listening now and being
thoroughly entertained. I like your guitar
parts and the structure of the guitar harmony.
The other instrument is tasteful and
complementary. Interesting tune, and
words sung with true emotion."
-Dave Walton of ArtistLaunch.com
(Refering to Tired) "That's a wonderful
tune Greg, very well written."
