Artist History Ransom the Captive was formed in the summer of 2001, between semesters at Moravian College. Founding members George Wacker (vox,guitar) and Matt Plewinski (guitar) shared similiar music tastes and decided to form what would become RTC. Mutual friend Justin Arnold (bass) joined soon after and helped hook the band up with drummer Vince Byrne. By mid-summer the four-piece recorded a rough 10 song demo. In late 2001, the band recorded their six-song demo, "Distopia". Mid-summer of 2002 saw the departure of Byrne and the band acquired Steve Szigethy on the skins. Currently RTC is playing shows throughout Eastern Pennsylvania. The band is looking to record their first full length album summer 2003.
