Artist History
Embracing the Empty Sky was formed in early August 2002 featuring the talents of Will Johnston, Mike Lesmeister, Caitlin Schaller, and also featuring Brett Berndt... Brett is not talented and he will soon be replaced. Embracing the Empty Sky had noticed the total lack of a single hardcore band in Rochester, MN and decided to fill that void by bringing the chug. The band takes its influences from bands like Norma Jean, Poison the Well, Zao, All Out War, Anal Cunt, the Dillinger Escape Plan, and Converge. We sound kinda like some of those bands, but different. It's complicated. We try to play heavy and fast most of the time, but sometimes we don't. Embracing the Empty Sky played their first show on November, 1st 2002. They played more shows and recorded a quick demo in January, 2003, with Janine Quaile(www.J9Records.com) at Studio Academy. |
