Artist description
Don Kelly plays a unique style of soul-rock exhibiting his unique and coveted voice with subtle hints of Sting, Jeff Buckley, Ron Sexsmith & Thom Yorke of Radiohead.
Don Kelly is a one-man-show. He weaves stories and emotions into a soft and warm blanket you can wrap yourself into on a cold evening. His music is mellow, soulful and sometimes sad, but the overriding characteristic of his music is optimism. You feel good when its over because ultimately that is what the songs are about.
Don Kelly is unique. Sure there are thousands of people out there trying to do the same thing, but Don Kelly is different. He is authentic. His music is genuine. His songs are not contrived or manufactured. Don Kelly is special, and when you see him perform you will understand why.

Artist History
After completing university with a degree in history, Don Kelly packed his guitar and his suitcase and moved to Ireland. While there he nurtured a love for traditional Irish ballads and British bands such as The Verve, Radiohead and Travis, as well as mainstay acts such as U2, Sting and Peter Gabriel. Upon returning to America he shipped off to live along the quiet beaches of North Carolina. All along Kelly was living his life and translating it into song.
Today Don Kelly calls South Florida home. He recently completed a successful tour of the northeastern United States with shows in the famous and the not-so-famous venues of America including the Saint in Asbury Park, NJ and the Baggot Inn in Greenwich Village. |

Press Reviews
Singing with a powerful voice that conveys emotion and internal resolution through a storytelling tone, Don Kelly compliments the sentiment with rhythmic strumming and smooth guitar melodies... -- Wallflower Gallery - Miami, FL
When asked What is the future of music?, a world-renowned musician once said, The future of music is someone sitting alone in a room, singing and playing his guitar. Pop music will lose its sweetness. Heavy Metal will rust. Alternative becomes main-stream then becomes Classic. Music is a vast cycle that always comes back to one thing -- someone with something to say and his guitar. |
