Artist History
In the fall of 2001 David, Clovis, Josh, and a
friend formed a band called Alias and played one
show before they dispersed forvarious reasons.
Clovis never was able to play that show and Alias
had to pick up another friend to fill in on drums.
Then in the winter of that same year Josh started
a band with Tim and they asked a friend to play
drums, but eventually that drummer had to quit.
Quickly they picked up a bass player and drummer
to continue playing and got three shows beneath
them before they had to break up also. Spring of
2002 David, Tim, and Josh planned on starting a
band through the summer but didn't know who they
could get for bass or drums. News soon came that
Clovis was returning from college and would be
available to play, so that left them looking for
a bass player but not sure where to look. At a
local benefit concert David and Josh were
checking out the talent, not actually looking
for a bass player, when they met Matt. After the
show they didn't waste time to ask him to join
the band when they started practicing and it
didn't take much for Matt to say "Yes." So there
they were; Josh, Tim, David, Clovis, and Matt.
On June 7th, 2002 theleventhour came together to
begin writing music and performing. As a group
they had decided before hand that their main goal
was going to be to give hope to people who needed
it without pushing them. They had watched people
turn away because of being forced or condemned
because of things and they wanted to relate to
people however they could. They didn't want to
just be a band for Christians but for anyone
that liked their music. If being five Christian
guys in a band made them a Christian band then
they would embrace that classification, but they
were not goning to be only for Christians to
listen to. That day they began creating Give,
Collide, and One More Day. Writing three songs
in one day surprised the band and they knew
there was something different about them. They
continued spending their summer writing and
developing their sound. By their first show, in
Grove City, OH, they had 8 originals. Grove City
was an enjoyable event until they woke up the next
morning to an empty equipment trailer.
theleventhour kept their head up and saw that God
was doing something in them and through them. It
was two months before the band saw their new
equipment, so in the meantime they practiced and
played their first local show with borrowed
instruments. They even recorded a praise and
worship song, Forever, during this time to enter
into a contest. By November the band found
themselves blessed; being able to buy brand new
equipment and afford some extras. By the end of
October they had joined with Rock for Life and
been added to their list of bands that stand up
against abortion. They are listed among Audio
Adrenaline, PAX 217, Relient K, and P.O.D. to
name just a few.
