Artist History
Once upon a time ('96) in a suburb not so far away (outside Dallas, TX) a few high school friends got together and attempted to write music that they themselves would buy and decided to call themselves The Danes. They were: Brandon Carr- lead vox, guitar : Andy Myers- guitar : John Wooldridge- bass and Jared Jackson- drums. Soon they started playing in their garages and local skating rinks. Before long they recorded a four track demo tape. The tape caught the attention of many powerful local bands and clubs. The Danes played throughout Texas and Oklahoma for many years. During this time they also recorded an album called We Were Sent For.
"We Were Sent For is a pop record, full of affecting melodies that cut like a searchlight through the dense fog that surrounds them." – Zac Crain, Dallas Observer
In the summer of 2001, the members of the group decided to take an open ended break from The Danes. During this time various members moved around the country, some got married and others gained fresh musical outlooks by performing with new bands.
In June of 2002 the band decided that they wanted to continue working with each other, so they did. After a couple months of rehearsal, the band was soon picked up by their booking agency Spune Productions.
Their current line up:
Brandon Carr- lead vox and guitar
Andy Myers- guitar and vox
Tim Cooper- bass, keys and vox
(who joined The Danes a year before their previous break)
Jared Jackson- drums and keys
The Danes are more focused and stronger players than ever. Especially with the help of studio session mastermind, Jason Harper (guitar, sax, keys). The Danes give a nod to space pop, but maintain their rock sensibilities.
