Artist description Hemicrania is the artistic outlet for the self-proclaimed studio hermit Shawn M. Pickett. Hemicrania blends a B tuned guitar and an E Tuned guitar to create a silky distortion rhythm over heavy progressive drum lines. A crispy bass line and cutting lead guitar are used to bring the melody to the top of the mix without overpowering the rhythm. Haunting vocals are used to deliver socially unacceptable lyrics. Loss, longing, and the quest for self-destruction dominate the theme that runs through the music of Hemicrania.
