Artist description
A six piece Christian hardcore band, Uprising was started in 2001 by drummer Hayden Stewart and keyboardist Andrew Slatter. After writing and practicing a set of new songs, Uprising played their first gig late spring of 2001. Playing shows since then from Fayetteville to Lumberton have gained them recognition in the local scene. The band's lineup now consists of Hayden Stewart on drums, Josiah Blevins on vocals, Joseph Nation on bass, Daniel Linkous and Daniel Jones on guitar, and Andrew Slatter on the keys. Josiah is the newest addition to the band, filling the vocal slot and adding a new surge of energy into the band. Fame, glory, and money were never any goals of Uprising. As followers of Jesus Christ, the members of the band hope to share God's love with others first and foremost. By playing positive songs and being there for anyone that needs prayer or encouragement after a show, the band tries to portray Christianity to those that may not have been around it at home or school.
In the near future, Uprising will be opening for As I Lay Dying and other bands. What will come next? Stay tuned.... |
