Artist description
SquishtheBadMan enjoy the following: complicated boy/girl harmonies, sad country songs,
heart-on-your-sleeve songwriting, unabashed rock bombast, non-genre conscious music,
attempting to be unique, AC/DC's Back In Black, lyrics with "universal truths" to them,
idealism, and bird-watching. SquishtheBadMan do not enjoy the following: nu-metal, the
fact that nu-metal is spelled "n-u," shiny punk(ever notice that when Avril got popular,
members of the Clash and the Ramones died?), scenes and scene-sters, and those guys that
spend all Friday night at Guitar Center playing really fast. |

If we see one more band describing themselves as sounding like Radiohead and Jeff Buckley, we'll probably shoot ourselves...almost makes you wanna lie about how much you love both of them... |

Artist History
Julie and Dave met while attending the prestigious(in Japan, at least)
Berklee College of Music in Boston. During this time they tried earnestly
to make Mommy and Daddy proud by earning at least moderately good grades,
and duly noting the irony of having no time to play music in a band because
you're too damn busy studying it. Upon graduation, both played individually
in a bunch of bands and solo projects before realizing that it was all pretty
silly and they clearly should be playing with each other as a duo in the renowned
international hub of the music industry that is Davis, CA. The rest, as they say,
is a hysterectomy...wait...no, that's not right... |

Press Reviews
"No matter what you call their music, you have to call it wonderful"(The Davis Enterprise),
"For a local band, SquishtheBadMan's CD is a standout. If compared to anything mainstream, 'How to Get to Heaven' is still one of the best buys of the new year."(Sacramento State Hornet) |
