Press Reviews
Since the band’s formation in February of 2002 by two young kids craving an output for their love of music, Mikey’s Attic has exceeded the expectations that are commonly attached to high school bands. This up and coming teenage quartet from San Diego is breaking out of the ordinary genre known as “punk rock”, and is creating their very own original sound which mixes the elements of rock, punk, emo, and hardcore. Along with an intense live show, these 16-17 year olds are quickly gaining attention world-wide. Playing with popular acts such as Face to Face, Good Riddance, Gob, Homegrown, Letter Kills, Pennywise, Rise Against, Strung Out, Thrice, Voodoo Glow Skulls, and Yellowcard, Mikey’s Attic has already gotten the chance to present themselves to thousands of music-goers all over the country.
After recording two EP’s with engineer/producer, Joe Marlett (Blink 182, Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age), these four energetic teenagers have dedicated all of their spare time to getting their music heard by anyone who will listen. With a consistent local fan base, and growing support all over California, Mikey’s Attic has proved to be one of the most up and coming bands in the southern California music scene.
Pushing past the boundries set before them, Mikey’s Attic has shown dedication, drive, undeniable passion, and many more qualities that are essential in the process of being in a band. No matter what kind of music you are seeking, whether its rock, punk, emo, metal, hardcore etc., a common ground has finally been created by Mikey’s Attic...
