Artist History
Arthur, Dave, and Paul were playing out in DC in a band called mindshaft. The band went through a split and the three forementioned formed Bastille. They had recruited a bass player (John) who was really more of a spectacular guitar player, and thus moved on to form his own band Sluthammer. They ran a few ad's and ran accross newcomer to the baltimore music scene, Tom Burick. Tom picked up where they left off. They finished their first CD, and have began a relentless touring schedule. They are taking a few weeks off to go back to the studio to lay down some new tracks. |

Press Reviews
Frantic Records announces the release of Bastille's debut CD, "Off With Your Head". The collection of ten original songs is an electric mix. There is a bump-and-grind cha-cha (Voices), a Celtic-tinged saga (Brave Heart), a barnburner with African undercurrents (Chosen Ones), their take on R&B (Shadow Girl), a selection of straight ahead rockers (Doubts, Snowslider, Anything, Fistful of Dreams, Ashes, and a ballad called (Circle World). Bastille's sound is big. They most closley bring to mind the sonic possibilities of a Cult, Mission UK, and Peter Gabriel-era Genesis collabartion. A live Bastille performance is likely to include new and changing material, extended improvisation and an occasional cover. |
