Artist History
Informally, spontaniously formed by pianist Tom Rosenkranz in Rochester, NY. January 2003. The four members performed together for the first time at their debut concert at the Eastman School of Music on January 31, 2003, where they also made their first live recording. THOMAS ROSENKRANZ: Pianist, Thomas Rosenkranz has performed throughout the United States and was the 1999 National Winner at the Collegiate Artist Piano Competition sponsored by the MTNA. He recently was the official pianist for the Kurt Weill Gala Concert at the 92 street Y in New York City hosted by soprano Teresa Stratas. His performances have been broadcast in over 40 countries world wide as part as the WGBH Boston's Program, Art of the States. This summer he will embark on a three-week long tour throughout Japan and Taiwan with the Grammy-nominated Eastman Wind Ensemble. He graduated from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music with top honors in piano, including the William Robert Abate Memorial prize and first prize in the Arthur Dann Piano Competition. He studied piano with Robert Shannon. Engagements for the 1999-2000 season included performances at the Channing Concert Series in Houston, The Washington State, Georgia, Pennsylvania, and Hawaii Music Teachers' Conventions, The Eastman School of Music, Symphony Space in New York City, and the 92 Street Y in New York City among others. He was a guest artist at the University of Oregon‚s "Festival for the Millennium" where he performed the world premiere of HyeKyung Lee's confusion/combustion and worked with composer George Crumb. He is currently pursuing a master's degree from the Eastman School of Music where he studies with Nelita True. He maintains a web site at "http://rosenkranz.homepage.com"
BRANNON HUNGNESS (FIGURE): Composer and multi-instrumentalist, Figure currently leads the twisted space-age rock band Kill Myself On Monday.
