Artist History
Yeehaw Juction was formed in 2002, inspired by the love that lead singer, Josh Owen, has for country music. Josh grew up in a small town in south Florida playing golf and living the "country-club" life. Music was always a love of his, but he nor his parents would have ever thought that he would one day be performing music. Josh injured his shoulder during his sophmore year at Florida State University and this kept him from playing competitive golf. He got his first guitar for Christmas in 2001, and went from there. After playing long nights up in his college apartment to a crowd of no more than himself, he decided he could take his solo acoustic act out on the town. Josh performed 5 times a week for sometimes just the employee's of the place where he was playing, but he had a dream that would drive hime to where is his today. After gaining a large following of devoted fans from the acoustic gigs, Josh raised the question to three of his good buddies, "Why don't we start a country music band?" Things took off from there. Josh rounded up his old pledge brother, Ryan Parsons to play the drums, his good buddy Daniel Davis to rip it up on the lead guitar, and Dave Armentrout to play bass. Dave played acoustic gigs with Josh here and there, and the bond of the four good friends seemed to get closer from then on. After practicing together for only a week, Yeehaw Junction played their first show at Potbelly's, which is one of Tallahassee's hottest spots. That night, the band acquired a tremendous following of country music fans. With original song such as "It's been Awhile," crowds love to come out to support and sing along with the good ol' boys of Yeehaw Junction. These guys are living the way they have always dreamed, and their dreams are still driving them to hopefully one day hit the spotlight. |
