Artist History
Like a puzzle waiting for it's final pieces to be completed, so was FROM NOTHING. Formed in September of 2001 by guitarist Rob Harris and drummer Chris Mammola ( long time friends ), they went on a journey to find other musicians who would share in the same visions and have the same determination as themselves. After posting ads, upon ads for a vocalist, bass player and rhythm guitarist they patiently awaited replies while starting to write material. Quickly one of the three prayers were answered. John Mauro ( also a close friend ) who was originally a guitarist, now turned vocalist has taken the responsibilities of becoming FROM NOTHING'S front man. With his aggressive screaming voice and melodic, singing, he fit the mold all too perfectly. With one down and two to go, the now three strong members search for the final two pieces. Finally, Rob received a phone call from a bassist named Henry Ortiz (HO). With his energetic playing, quick learning and a great ear for music, soon enough the bass slot was filled. After months of searching, practicing and holding tryout after tryout trying to find who would fit into the rhythm guitar slot and be able to gel with Rob's unique style of playing, finally came an answer. Dave Brooks in March 2002 had accepted the challenge and entered the bulldozer known as "FROM NOTHING." With his great speed and live energy, Dave was the missing link now found.
Fully formed and ready to go, these five soldiers now go to war and write some of the heaviest, most brutal and aggressive music on earth. Out of Philadelphia, FROM NOTHING are more than ready to take original heavy music to the next level. With their style that's rarely seen in local music, FROM NOTHING will not disappoint you. With absolute bone crushing guitar riffs integrated with melodic choruses and a thunderous rhythm section, this is new metal in it's purest form. Their live performance will make your heart stop. You can feel the passion that these guys have for the music they are playing in the pit of your stomach. So much energy, so much intensity, so much dedication and heart
....FROM NOTHING has now arrived.
