Artist History
Formed in late 2001 as Yes They're Real, The Moobs have grown from rather humble origins to be considered one of the best bands to play the venues they play ever. The Moobs started off as three buys messing around with a reel-to-reel recorder, laying down such classics as "Come Together" and "Pip is a Bastard". As Yes They're Real, they played their first live concert in January 2002 at a "church" in a strip mall. Word spread like wildfire. A cult following of dozens developed, only to learn that Yes They're Real would not perform much again.
Fast forward three months:
The band idea among Juice, John, and Ricky had been all but laid on the table, when the three spontaneously decided to perform for Ricky's graduation party. And so they did, recording the album and releasing it later in the summer.
Throughout the summer they made guest appearances for some friends, packing Windale Alley for a mid-summer classic concert. They even made a guest appearance at the Weezer concert held in Nashville in July.
By the end of the summer, with all three members going separate ways for college, the boys performed one more concert, an unplugged jam featuring all of the Moobs' signature cuts.
The Moobs are currently on hiatus, with things hoping to pick back up over the summer. |
