Artist description
The Shoal Creek Mudstompers are an experimental acoustic string band from Austin, Texas. The band has been together for a year and played at Vibe, the Shoal Creek Saloon, the Harvest Moon Festival at Jacob’s Well, and are favorites at Wheatsville Co-op. Our influences include such styles as traditional bluegrass, jazz, improvisational rock, and roots reggae to name a few. We approach bluegrass in a back-to-basics traditional sense, fusing this with modern genres to create unique sounds like dub- and death-grass. The Mudstompers have recorded two limited release albums; Skunk #1 and Skunk #2, and have released numerous live recordings. The ability and frequency to play almost anywhere has helped us to gain a loyal fan base. |
