Gothic in its darkness and alternative in its edginess, Deita Klaus presents richly layered, eloquently formed songs, seething in compelling lyrical mysticism.
Who is Deita Klaus? In this age of media overload, you may have overlooked her 2002 nationwide appearances on Westwood One radio’s “Loveline” or Discovery Channel’s “The Vampires Among Us.” In the 90’s, she performed as Dawn LaRue, receiving substantial acclaim and notoriety with her former band, Near Death Experience.” Radio airplay included major market stations in Los Angeles and Chicago, plus dozens of specialty shows and college outlets across the country. Her music has also been featured in an episode of CBS-TV’s “Nash Bridges” and the Academy Award nominated independent film, “The Rib.”
Deita delivers more than just catchy dance tunes on Club 7. Each of the songs on the EP has a story to go with the beat. “My songs are my diary,” she says. Best Sex pulses with all the dark energy of LA’s burgeoning fetish scene. Love & Hate describes being taken advantage of by someone wearing a mask. Suicide Bride is a spine tingling glimpse into the ultimate moment of despair, while the upbeat anthem, My Darker Side, is a glowing tribute to Deita’s inner self. Vampire, brilliantly captures the romantic eroticism of the fabled legends, reminding us once again why the publication, LA View heralded her as “the Anne Rice of Rock ‘n’ Roll.. Penny Dreadful, written for writer friends Rain Grave and Miss Blue, turns the vibe of LA’s fabled Fang Club on its head. As for her bold remake of Peter Murphy’s "Cuts You Up", Deita simply says, “It’s my favorite song.”
Musical influences behind this new body of work include Tori Amos, Ministry, Pigface, Bjork, and Portishead. “I wanted to create dance driven drum beats with aggressive guitars and hooky, catchy melodies and I wanted to combine dance, metal, pop, and industrial rhythms in a way that makes people want to get up and dance, and then wake up in the morning with the tunes ringing in their heads,” says Deita. Of the new tracks, she says, “Best Sex" is the most fun for me; I really love grooving to it. I hope audiences around the world will like it, too.”

Press Reviews
Also from the dark world of fetish flavoured US goth comes the brilliant Deita Klaus (www.DeitaKlaus.com) , formerly of the bands Idol Worship and Near Death Experience, who is due to release her debut album 'Deita Klaus' any moment soon. As a taster she has put out a 7-track ep called 'Club 7' - 7 tracks for the clubs you see! Although this is only a promo release, you can download several tracks from her MP3 section. Deita combines gothic sounds with more industrial influences, weaving in some delightful pop and metal elements along the way. Lyrically, she describes her songs as 'her diary', and includes such topics as LA's fetish scene, vampires (Deita has been featured in TV documentaries about real-life vampires), personal dreams, and sex - a temptingly dark and romantic blend. Nice with a dry Martini I feel. A prediction my friends? Very well - Deita Klaus is set to become one of the most talked about artists in the scene - make sure you know who she is before everyone else does!- KALIEDOSCOPE MAGAZINE
