Artist description
A writer is not necessarily one that shouts "Hear Me!", but one that listens and seems to whisper "I heard you".
A folk writer should always remember that it is their duty to capture the moment in music as an anthem to it's occurance, a multi facetted chant of the world as it might really be, or perhaps a ballade that helps answer all the little "what if's" we are apt to stumble over thru life... a sense of humor helps too.

Artist History
Writing and performing throughout North and South America, Chapman's roots have always been buried in folk music where he offers vignettes of the world around us and questions our own priorities within. If his bio seems vague, it's only because he finds others lives far more interesting than his own so, don't be surprised if you hear a new song that strangely sounds like your life within days of describing some personal experience to a complete stranger in a pub off the beaten track...
Whether it's the sound of water running over river rocks or the view of war thru the eyes of a 4 year old boy, Chapman's songs are simple because (as he admits) "Choosing among frames for artwork has never been my passion, that's for the talented producers & cover artists"
Feel free to record and/or rearrange these demos yourself....the more interpretations the merrier. Just like the shareware days of old, try to remember the creator if the creation brings you good fortune.....

Press Reviews
Chapman James... a Folk Music Innovation
The critics agree.
Chapman James innovates Folk Music like no other.
The Courier-Press of Evansville, IN states:
"...he (Chapman) jumps from light hearted folk/blues to intricate tunings and finger styles of contemplative concept-poetry with a flow seldom managed."
- S.Knape
...afterwards I asked him where I could get his CD, he said it wasn't for sale but if I knew anyone that might want to record any of his work, he'd give me one. I said I did and I went home with a CD. I saw from the recording that all of his work is on the WEB at no cost other than a promise to give it a listen and some feedback at a site called "SongRamp". Evidently (as Harry Chapin once wrote) music is his life but not his livelihood .
