Artist History
Encomium(greek): highest expression of praise
Encomium started with its current members alittle over six months ago. As a band our main goal is tell people about Jesus and what he's done in our lives. Even though our music much much hardier than tranditional "worship music", we feel this is our worship, this is how we express our praises to God. Thats how the name came in.
Mosr of this started about four years ago when Anthony and Nick decided to start taking guitar lessons. We almost right away started talking about a band. Nick sucked at strumming on guitar, so he switched to concerntrating on bass. Anthony took off on guitar and has never stopped. Nick and Anthony screwed around (1/2 Wits, Final Warning). Actually had a decent for bit called Remnants, but that ended too.
For awhile there was nada. But then Nick and Anthony got together once more to give it a swing. We didn't have a sing so looked around saw a guy that looked pretty hardcore, but turn out to be really super nice. So now it was Chris, Anthony and Nick. All summer we practiced without a drummer. It was sorta good, we got to get alot of song down. Then the Blegian thug came along. Dave was play one night after church and we were pretty impressed right away. Thats how Encomium became Chris, Anthony, Dave and Nick.
We hope to just get out there and be a positive light in scene that can be plagued by violence and anger. JCHC Preach it in the pit!
