Artist description
In 1961, Bottco signed their first rock-n-roll act. The SURF BOYS were a surf music band from land-locked southern Illinois. Their only record, "Surf Bored", was a fine example of the surf music genre, although ironically, none of the Surf Boys had ever even seen the ocean, let alone surfed in it. |

Artist History
THE SURF BOYS (1961-1964, 1968-1970)
Though the surf boys only recorded one album, their impact cannot be under-estimated. The four lads from Illinois toured endlessly through the first phase of their career. But as the british invasion landed on american shores, the surf boys found themselves on the fringe of popular music. In 1968, a reunion tour brought the original members back together, but the reunion was short-lived. Too many old wounds and a general public dis-interest brought the beleagered group to an end. All four original members still reside in the same town, and they've never discounted the possibility of another reunion tour. |
