Artist description Ottawa-born, Maria Hawkins is a powerful vocalist who has been performing since the age of 6. For the last nine years Maria has been participating in artist-in-residence programs and creating "Blues 4 Kids" and "Sing Thing". Maria's students from both of these programs perform every year at Tulip Festival, Ottawa Blues Festival, Nortel Networks Dragonboat Festival, Andrew Haydon Park and the Navan Fair. Maria is accompanied by a great backing band and performs a personalized form of blues - heartfelt and honest.
