Press Reviews
Outburn Magazine Review by Octavia (Issue #14 pg 80)The Pounding electro industrial is dominated by the harsh male vocals of Dave Strand, which are occasionally intertwined with female vocals. In The Trench features ten tracks, including "Decieved" remixed by The Azoic's Steve Laskarides, as well as an unexpected ethereal gem to close the CD, "Bookmark on the Shelf."
Legends Magazine Review by Marcus Pan (Issue #109 April)
Dave and Kimberly and the rest of The Strand have opened up with a great
piece of work. A very exciting and powerful CD, very complicated
arrangements and smooth melodies, all done in a living room studio. I
brought that up again because I'm still shocked by the production quality
of the work. A solid debut from this new crew in Arizona, I'm looking
forward to more. Gothic Preservation Society Review by Split (January 2001)
It is apparent that The Strand put a great deal of initiative behind this project. In this case, the all around beauty of it is not skin deep. I dearly hope the work behind the music and promotional items pay off. While "In The Trench" is through and through an industrial album, there also lies a sensitive side behind the horrors of war and rage. Kimberly Brown comes into play sprinkling her bits of melodic bliss. It's just enough to say that Dave and Crew planned some diversity during the creative process of this album. From the first few seconds of this album, I was sold. Rather than a traditional assault of industrial fury from the get go, we are slowly coaxed into what "In The Trench" holds. "Curious" is the word I'm thinking of. Curiosity may make you listen to the Strand. Only this time curiosity won't kill the cat. |
