Artist description The SoftTouch Banjo Ensemble plays a uniquely orchestrated blend of eclectic folk music from the minstrel banjo era of the 1840’s, the Civil War era, the classical period of the 1890’s, when it was fashionable to have a banjo in your parlour, the music of the roaring ‘20s, & the frailing, claw hammer, drop thumb style of Appalachian old time music. To the best of our knowledge, these arrangements have never been done before with a group of 5-string banjos.
