    Artist description
When I was a kid I heard "Eine Kleine Nachtmusik" so many times I could now probably sing all the parts in my sleep. Equal doses of Motown, Beethoven piano works and Johnny Cash filled the rest of my listening time.Later guitar, piano and violin and innumerable art-rock bands on the one hand, with Bartok, Schoenberg, Bach on the other.I started writing "serious" music in my twenties, which was a long time ago, kids. I've since abandoned being in bands and concentrate now on counterpoint and idiomatic string writing, because chamber music is my one true love.I have no illusions of joining the pantheon of greats, but I enjoy the work immensely and hope some of you will enjoy the results.

    Artist History
Music lessons as a kid. Some theory in college. Thousands of hours somewhat wasted writing 4-minute rock songs. Still working primarily in short forms. Never particularly interested in classical "functional harmony." Fell under the influence of the Second Viennese School and Bartok/Janacek/Ligeti in the mid-1980's. Married a pianist, hence my forthcoming CD of solo piano works, which will be heavily influenced by both the "WTC" and "Mikrokosmos."Reviewed nowhere, featured nowhere, performed by theater groups long ago and on public access television not as long ago.

Listen.com says of me: "Bailey attempts to continue the path of serialism by using non-twelve-tone rows combined with episodes of tonality. Synthesized orchestrations make up the sound of this rhythmic and dense twentieth century classical music." (I like the "rhythmic and dense" bit, but I'm not so sure about the rest.)
