Artist History
Formed during the height of the grunge movement, Nice Guy Eddie was an attempt at a more optimistic approach to pop. Songwriters Chris Jackson and Ken McAnlis draw much inspiration from the aesthetic and songcraft of such sixties groups as the Beatles and the Beach Boys. The band’s initial output was a veritable sampler of pop styles. Subjects ranged from joyous infatuation to punk inflected regret to sullen reflection to matter of fact sincerity. Over the years, they have refined their material to a style mostly akin to power pop: strongly rooted in the sixties, but with more of an edge and a healthy dose of experimentation. |
