Artist description Jason is an Anchorage-based songwriter, guitar player and singer. Born on the south side of Chicago, his musical influences come from the great bands of the 60's, 70's and 80's. He picked up his first acoustic guitar at the rebellious age of sixteen. After fumbling with the basics, he finally got his first electric guitar some years later -- a 1960 Les Paul Jr. Special. Jason did not officially begin his musical career until after returning home from a two year stint in Western Europe. Jason moved to Anchorage where he began playing his music for live audiences. His first real success came when he joined a three piece band named "Light Year." They entered a Miller Brewing Company "Rock To Riches" talent contest with one of his songs. The winning song, "When I'm In Love" was placed on the regional LP entitled "Offering" by Starstream Records. This was Jasons' first volley into the record business. Jason continued his musical journey recording several demo's, a music video and performing at the famous "Chillkoot Charlies" in Anchorage. After years of playing clubs and writing, Jason finally accumulated enough material to record his first CD. He is currently putting the finishing touches on his second CD offering entitled "Oblation." His sound is an amalgamation of American Rock.
