Artist description Sound Mind is based in Helsinki, Finland, where it's lead musician (Jason Penkethman) spends his time composing melodic, ambient and trip-hop grooves in the Sound Mind studio. Drawing upon inspiration from and collaboration with other artists in the Helsinki area, Sound Mind has produced chill-out tracks across a variety of genres that have become known for their smooth grooves and cinematic qualities.

Music Style Acoustic and electronic soundtrack, trip-hop, chill-out, down-tempo melodic, world, and relaxation.

Artist History Beginning with classical guitar at the age of seven, Jason has studied various styles of guitar, saxophone and keyboards. Though he has worked in several bands over the years, he has found more expression working as a solo artist. He started Sound Mind in mid-1999 as a way to begin publishing some of his music created since the mid-90's. The result was the self-produced CD, 'Someday,…'. Later that year Sound Mind released two more CD's combining new music with some earlier works. Sound Mind has dedicated most of the year 2000 towards the latest CD, 'Sugar Rush'.
