    Artist History
Psyko Dalek originated in the Summer of 2002 when Lev (Joseph Cassidy) and Pete (Peter McTaggart) thought it would be cool to form a band. Despite having different and varied tastes, the two friends found a common musical ground in the fact that they were both fans of "modern metal" bands and figured that it made sense to make a band roughly based around this style. Lev took-up the role of bassist while Pete played guitar in the newly-formed group, and soon the line-up was completed with vocalist Christ (Christopher Myler), drummer Ross (Ross McLelland) and additional guitarist Div (David Grimason) - all of the band members were good friends previous to forming the group so they gelled quicker than most groups. The name "Psyko Dalek" was soon made-up by Lev whilst he was taking a piss one day as a play on the word "psychadelic" - it was originally suggested as a joke but seeing as how the other possible names up for consideration (such as "Cider-Man" and "Resident Steve-Il") were all a bit shit as well, Psyko Dalek eventually somehow stuck! As times changed, so did the line-up for the band. First of all, Chris parted ways with the group and Div took-up the microphone in his place, with Stewart (Stewart Everson) taking-up the vacant slot of additional guitarist. Not long after this major re-shuffle, Ross also had to put down his Psyko Dalek drumsticks to focus more on schoolwork. Original replacement Kyle (Kyle Hopwood) found it difficult to keep-up with the band schedule and also soon parted ways with Psyko Dalek leaving his position with the band in the very talented hands of George (Yorgo Papadopoulous). Now with this rocksteady and talented line-up the band were ready to step things up a notch. More aggressive but yet still very catchy songs were written by the group and despite the fact that the band was formed with no intention to ever be taken serious, Psyko Dalek's live performances garnered them a good buzz and the members became more dedicated.
