Artist description
Mixing such diverse influences as Circle of Dust,
The violet Burning, and Living Sacrifice,
Darkfield illuminatoR has taken the elements of
Industrial, Spacerock, and Modern Metal and
combined them into a cohesive whole. The music is
tight, heavy and groove oriented, yet maintains an
ambient vibe that draws the listener into the
emotional journey that the lyrics guide. |

Artist History
Sick and tired of trying to find other people to
share in his musical vision, bassist, didjeriduist,
hand drummer Dan Numbers finally took the plunge
(with prodding from his vocalist wife Laurel) and
bought a 7 string guitar and learned to play it!
They then invested in some sampling/looping gear
and a laptop computer started piecing it all
together. "This is the kind of music I've wanted
to do for a long time, But I had to pretty much
learn to play guitar so I could have full artistic
control of my vision. Laurel stepped up to do
vocals and she is great! It added a dimension
that I hadn't really anticipated, but I love it!"
Before this Dan had played Bass for 14 years or
so in several different bands, and had played
Didjeridu in the Portland Oregon based cult
favorite Bella Rum. After Bella Rum folded, Laurel
convinced Dan to start going for his music vision
full on. Getting some friends to fill in on drum
and bass duties, Darkfield illuminatoR did their
first gig ever at the PORTICO festival (formerly
TOMFEST) and the rest is yet to come! |

Press Reviews
"The music is a lot like mid-era MINISTRY, with heavy, rhythmic, dissonant guitars with contrasting female vocals that call to mind SWTICHBLADE SYMPHONY. There are well placed media and abstract
samples mixed with harsh, albeit sparse male vocals that echo ARGYLE PARK or KLANK."
Jobe, Mannequin Oddio (Taken from the Darker Days collective discussion board)
